Manobhiram (Manu) Nellutla is an Indo-Canadian author, Indologist, and award-winning executive leader with over 25 years of international experience spanning three continents. A multi-hyphenate professional, Manu’s work sits at the intersection of human factors, organizational resilience, and ancient historical narrative.
With a career defined by visionary leadership, Manu has served in pivotal roles as a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) within the Canadian health and safety sectors. His executive tenure is marked by a "people-first" philosophy, where he has successfully transformed organizational cultures, doubled membership associations, and earned "Great Place to Work" certifications by prioritizing stakeholder value and psychological safety. He also lent his expertise to several boards, including the Work Wellness Institute and the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT).
Before transitioning into executive leadership, Manu’s foundations were laid in clinical practice and academia. A Canadian Certified Professional Ergonomist (CCPE) with a Master of Physiotherapy, he served as a Senior Lecturer and Head of Department at the University of Rwanda and as an Assistant Professor in various institutes in India.
His impact on public policy is significant; he was a key technical expert in drafting Rwanda’s national Occupational Health and Safety legislation and pioneered the integration of ergonomics into national primary school curricula. His academic rigor is backed by a diverse educational portfolio, including an MBA, a Master of Arts in Education, Post Graduate Diploma in Ergonomics, and specialized leadership certifications from MIT Sloan and Harvard Business School.
This deep understanding of human systems and resilience informs his literary work. Manu is the author of the Janya Bharata series, including The War (2022) and The Deluge (2026). The series reimagines the Mahabharata through the eyes of common people, exploring how ordinary individuals survive catastrophe and rebuild in the aftermath.
His work has been recognized globally, with The War named one of the Top 50 Most Influential Works by Indian Writers in 2022. As a TEDx speaker and host of the Roots and Realities podcast, he brings historical depth to discussions on diaspora identity and cultural heritage.
Fluent in Telugu, Hindi, English, and Gujarati, Manu is actively translating the Janya Bharata series to reach a broader linguistic audience. Whether he is advising a board on risk mitigation, lecturing on human factors, or narrating an ancient epic, Manu’s voice remains focused on a singular, essential question: How do we build systems—and stories—that allow humans to thrive under pressure?
"We measure success by what survives the catastrophe. Not wealth, not power, not even memory—but what ordinary people chose to carry forward: their dignity, their relationships, their refusal to let the system define them. I advise organizations on how to be the kind of culture that people want to carry forward. And I tell stories about people who, with nothing but that choice, built civilizations worth remembering.
